In the summer of 2006, Mike and Stephanie Thornton opened Abracadabra Glass Blowing Studio in Abilene, Texas. After having studied with Mike Crowley at the Glass Hive in South Beach, Oregon, Stephanie and her sister, Shana Morrow, began creating unique blown and fused glass pieces of art. Artwork from Abracadabra has been featured in the Artists and Artisans Studio Tour, the Center for Contemporary Arts, and Abilene Frame 'N' Art. A feature article about Abracadabra (first published in the Abilene Reporter News) was picked up by the wire and published all over the U.S.
We specialize in creating hand-blown fishing floats, vases, wave bowls, pulled glass flowers, glass tiles, wall crosses, free standing large glass pieces in metal stands, and fused glass jewelry. We offer gift certificates and "blow your own float" classes. We have a great facility for watching glass blowing in process, and we love for groups to come to watch glass blowing demonstrations.
